As part of our team,your opportunities are limitless!In addition to the valuable skills gained through training and on-the-jobexperience, MasTec offers competitive pay, including medical, vision anddental coverage, 401K and employee stock discounts.The Telecommunications Laborer/Groundman is responsible for preparing andcleaning construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards, loadingand unloading building materials to be used, operating equipment andmachines, and helping craft workers with their duties. This positionsupports the Construction team and works with personnel within the department.Essential FunctionsClean and prepare the construction site for work, remove debris and possiblehazards.Assist the tradesmen to be able to complete their skilled task moreeffectively.Identify utilities and monitor digging by dig crew to prevent utility hits.Clean up and maintain equipment.Restock trucks with supplies and ensure crews have the proper tools andsupplies to complete the job.Seed and straw. Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.Minimum Qualifications1.A High School Diploma, or equivalent.2.A valid driver's license.3.Precise hand-eye coordination.4.Good written and verbal communication skills.5.Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more and 20 inches or less, with theability to judge distance and space relationships.6.Ability to identify and distinguish colors of utility flags and markings onthe ground.Preferred Qualifications1.One or more years of experience.2.Previous experience with flagging.3.Safety training.4.A CDL Class A license.Salary Range$16-18, DOE. Also, the company will provide per diem and/or hotelaccommodations when applicable when you are required to be away from your homePhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requiresextended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing,pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, andtwisting. Also, this role works in inclement weather conditions, such asextreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must bemet by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.This position is physically active, with lifting required.
