Transwest has immediate openings for Diesel Technicians to support our newService Maintenance programs. This position is ideal for a Diesel Technicianwith PM experience and looking to perfect those skills on medium and heavyduty trucks. Technicians will complete express and full services, 35-pointvehicle checks and brakes.This position is a gateway to furthering your career at Transwest as youmaster PM skills and participate in OEM training courses.We offer a full benefits package including medical, dental, life,disability insurance, 401(K), HSA match, FSA, paid time off and anemployee car discount program for eligible employees.ESSENTIAL DUTIES andRESPONSGreet and interact with customers.Change vehicle oil.Check the transmission fluid and other fluid levels.Inspect various belts and filtersand check air levels and gauges.Rotate tires. (training will be provided, but candidates should at leasthave a basic understanding of car maintenance)Write up service reports and receipts for work completed.Perform work as outlined in repair order with efficiency and accuracy andinaccordance with dealership and factory standards.Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair.Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.Save and tag parts forwarranty.Advise shop foreman immediately if additional work is needed, if workoutlined is not needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the timeperiod promised.Document all work performance.Road test vehicles when requiredto quality check work performed.Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.Ensure that customers' vehicles are kept clean.Keep shop area neat and clean and be able to account for all dealership ownedtools at all times.Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations governing thedisposal of hazardous waste.Other duties as assigned by the Manager.WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL ABILITIES:Required toperform work insideand outside, in all-weather situations, atthe shopdivision location.Requires frequent sitting, standing,balancing,bending or stooping forprolonged periods of time.Manual dexterity, fine manipulation and the ability to reach with hands andarms and lift up to 80 lbs.Must be able to operate simple to complex and heavy-duty machinery.Normal range of hearing and vision.REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE,KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:High School diploma or equivalent.Valid driver's license with a good standing MVR and ability to obtain aClass B Commercial Driver's License within 90 days of employment.Basic computer skills are a plus.Excellent customer service skills.Technicians should be able to communicate well and explain technicalcomponents.Excellent verbal and communication skills.Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and passpost-offer background check, physical and drug screening.Job DetailsType: Hourly (flat-rate)Compensation Range: $19.00 to $49.50Bonus Eligibility: NoReports To: Service ManagerShift: 1st, 2nd, weekends availableClosing Date: Open until filled.Date Posted: 02-02-2021All qualified applications will receive consideration for employment withoutregard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, genderidentity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.Transwest is an equal opportunity employer.
