Arcosa Lightweight is searching for a Production and QC Manager for ourBoulder, CO plant. In this role you will support a positive safety cultureby directing the activities and staff within an environment that is regulatedby MSHA safety standards and guided by ARC100. As a Production and QCManager, you will manage 24/7 production operations and the distributionof lightweight expanded shale aggregate.Arcosa Lightweight is a leading producer and distributor in the Western andSouthwestern U.S. of lightweight and natural aggregates, including expandedshale and clay, crushed stone, sand and gravel, asphalt rock, andother products.What you'll do:Champion safety by empowering employees to take active ownership in creating apositive safety culture.Be responsible for plant safety, health and environmental compliance throughactive leadership and implementation of procedures to support long termprogress.Active involvement in the plants journey to safety excellence, through ARC100.Ensure all MSHA standards are met, and that employees are trained/educatedin this area.Manage 24/7 production operations, distribution and quality control ofaggregate materials in expanded shale and clay.Track and be held accountable for improvement in plants run time efficiency,material availability and product quality.Set production schedules based on equipment efficiency, materials supply,staffing resources, and volume required to meet sales demand and to ensuremaximum production quantity and quality.Work with Plant Management to schedule plant maintenance, based on customerdemand/product availability.Manage the day to day operations of the group in an aggregate productionenvironment to produce quality material at or below production cost.Follow established procedures for operating various conventional productiontasks to produce quality aggregate materialsResolve issues related to organizations production, machinery / productionoperationsResponsibilities are with the Operations and QC Functions, but should beprepared to support in other areas such as Maintenance, Capital Projects,Environmental etc.Exercise independent judgement to challenge the status quo and keep PlantManager informedCoordinate and supervise the daily activities of business or technical supportor production teamSet priorities for the team to ensure task completion. Follow up is critical.Coordinate work activities with other Leads, Supervisors and/or Managers.Make decisions guided by policies, procedures and business planEnsure all daily, weekly, monthly and/or annual inspections arecompleted, reviewed and deficiencies mitigated.Oversee cross-training of employees and ensure all shifts are covered.Manage the preventive maintenance approach to area of responsibility, withintent of minimizing unplanned downtime and costly repairs.Receive guidance and oversight from managerTypically, does not spend more than 20% of time performing the work supervisedPerform and/all other duties as assigned.What you'll need:Experience in MSHA regulated facilities preferred.Associate degree or equivalent experienceMinimum of 3 years as a Production Manager or Quality Control Manager of anaggregate facility.Proficiency in Microsoft Office ProductsStrong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand/improve on productionprocess.Experience with ASTM quality control standards preferred.Equal OpportunityEmployer-minorities/females/veterans/individuals withdisabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity
