LinQuest Industrial Controls System Technician, #3124 in Aurora, Colorado

DescriptionLinQuest is seeking a Controls Technician to join our team supporting the 460Mission Support Group, Civil Engineer Squadron located at Buckley AFB,Aurora, CO. You will provide Controls subject matter expertise (SME) inthe area of control systems and energy management for a classified mission tomeet a 99.9% availability rate of mission critical HVAC and power.The SME will have experience in distributed hardware, software and networkcommunication elements used to remotely control and monitor electrical andmechanical equipment and systems. These elements will include, but are notlimited to, chiller plants, air handlers, computer room A/C units,water and gas detection, fuel systems, water treatment, heatingsystems, primary and secondary unit substations, backup generators,large-scale UPS, monitoring and control software, and networkcommunication equipment. This job may require emergency responses in supportof the mission and requires US Citizenship and an active DoD TS/SCI Clearance. Responsibilities:Monitor and survey control system operation. Use a computer and uniquesoftware packages for digital control monitoring and programming to check andcalibrate sensors, actuators and other environmental controlling devices inheating; air conditioning; lighting, ventilation, and distributionsystems; electrical substations, emergency generators; fuel systems,water system pumps and flow rates; waste water sewage pump stations; lowpressure boiler and distribution systems; and chilled water systems.Maintain and adjust proper cycling of equipment to ensure energy efficiencyand system reliability.Adjust scheduled start and stop time of programs, equipment and systems tocompensate for weather conditions, occupancy, and building thermal storage.Maintain responsibility for the hardware and software of the industrialcontrol system (ICS) which consists of laptop and desktop computers whichfunction as operating workstations; servers and Network Control Modules (NCM)Maintain, operate, and assist in reporting from building meters and remotemonitoring system and historian.Ensure current versions of required software are loaded on each computersupporting the network.Maintain and set critical alarm limitsMaintain all levels of passwords to be used on the network.Create and maintain spreadsheets to track password, module, IP address,setpoint, alarm, and input/ output (I/O) databases.Through telephone and/or radio contact, assist field personnel as requiredin correcting malfunctions and monitoring safety factors while providing themwith data transmitted to and displayed on the computer console.Perform installation, maintenance, calibration, testing,troubleshooting, configuration and repair of power plant and HVACinstrumentation and process control systemsInspect systems for condition and proper operation, interpret gauge or meterreadings, and re-calibrate controls.Dismantle, repair, and reassemble systems, components, and subassemblies.Judge the impact of repairs and the effects adjustments will have on relatedintegral devices.Plan and lay out work from electrical and electronic block diagrams, wiringdiagrams, schematics, and technical orders.Review, prepare and submit records in support of these activities.Coordinate and/or specify and initiate purchase requisitions in support ofthe above.Maintain accurate records.Perform equipment and/or system upgrades with latest technology for plantoptimization.Assist in the development and installation of special controls projects,modifications and upgradesAssist in the development of written procedures and processes for operationand maintenance of systems and equipmentUtilize asset management software including Builder and Tririga applicationsand the Buckley and Air Force Preventive Maintenance Task Lists (PMTL) todevelop and implement as needed procedures to inspect, diagnose, test,repair, and replace parts, assemblies, and equipment as appropriateProvide documentation in the appropriate system after e
