Wagner Equipment Co., the Caterpillar dealer for Colorado, New Mexico andfar west Texas, is seeking applications for a Class BComponent/Specialization Shop Technician in our Aurora, CO location.Under some direct supervision, the Class B Technician is responsible for thediagnosis, repair, reconditioning, overhaul and maintenance of customerand company heavy equipment and/or components in a manner that reflects thecompanys vision of working as One Professional Team.Essential Functions:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilitiesto perform these essential functions.Completes disassembly and assembly of engines, transmissions, torqueconverters, final drives, wheel stations, differentials, fuelsystems, cylinder heads, hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic pumps,motors, hydraulic hammers, compactors, and other hydraulic attachmentsaccording to manufacturer specificationsPrepares accurate and complete service reports and turns them in on timePrepares inspection and appraisal reportsCorrectly charges work to appropriate work order segmentsCommunicates effectively with Service Writer, Shop Coordinators and ShopManagers to ensure problems, nature of repair, and status of repairs areunderstood and followed up onCleans, repairs, reconditions, and maintains equipment and componentPrepares, inspects, and operates machines prior to deliveryRemoves, disassembles, assembles, and installs components and partsDetermines reusability of parts in accordance with published Caterpillarreusability guidelinesOrders replacement parts ensuring that parts orders are correct and completeat the time of orderServices and maintains equipment sold and/or owned by the companyTests measures, and adjusts engine and machine systems and componentsDiagnoses and troubleshoots machine and engine malfunctions and failuresAnalyzes customer repair and maintenance requirementsKeeps up to date with developments in tooling, technologies and systemsUses safe working practices and follows all company safety requirementsMaintains a clean and organized work areaPerforms maintenance activities on new and rebuilt/repaired equipmentMakes recommendations as to repairs meeting warranty criteriaMakes parts replacement decisions assuring optimum economic reusabilityOther duties as assigned by managerCompetencies:Safety KnowledgeReading/Writing SkillsReasoning SkillsOrganizational SkillsCommunication SkillsMath SkillsProduct KnowledgeBasic ability to search for and enter data into a computerAbility to type service reportsWork Environment:Noise: LoudIndoors and OutdoorsPhysical Demands:StandingWalkingTalkingUse of HandsHearingAscending or descending ladders, stairs, etc.Heavy work that includes lifting and/or moving objects up to 70 pounds or moreRequired Education and Experience:High School Diploma or GEDGraduation from an accredited technical school in diesel engine or earthmovingrepair preferred3 years experience in heavy equipment, engine, or electric powergeneration system repair1-3 years administrative/clerical experience1-3 years customer service experienceAdditional Eligibility Requirements:Must pass all required pre-employment screenings which may include but are notlimited to background checks, drug/alcohol testing, fit for dutytesting, and any other job-related tests/screeningsPay Rate:Starting at $18.00 per hourEmployee Benefits: Wagner Equipment Co. provides the following benefits toall full-time employeesPaid Time Off (PTO) PlanCompany Paid HolidaysMedical, dental, and vision insuranceLife and ADandD Insurance401K Savings PlanTuition ReimbursementEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Other Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain acomprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that arerequired of the employee for this job.
